'Acquire' was designed by the late (great)AMERICAN designer Sid Sackson. It was not a German game.
Okay, very true.
The Wikipedia article I referred to, though, does mention the game as typical of the German style.
And historical miniatures is really quite healthy. Have a look at www.historicon.org for the main convention in the US...
